When you first take it out of the package you think its going to be waaaay too big, but when you mount it and insert the phone you realize its really perfect. I found when you first open the package the pliable front panel (that needs to be installed) may be a a little twisted from its packaging, but I devised a good way to fix it. There are 3 foam inserts provided for your use. Find the thickest one and set it aside. Now take the pliable front screen and insert it in the frame, dont worry about trying to get it perfect. Next take the 1/2" thick foam panel and insert it inside the pliable plastic cover. Make sure you LEAVE THE ADHESIVE PROTECTOR ON and press the foam into the pliable cover with the covered adhesive side IN. Press it in firmly all he way around the edges, check the outside to make sure the plastic is fully deployed into the front cover. The foam IS THE PERFECT SIZE to stretch the pliable cover into the front cover opening. Next place... That said, I had to look elsewhere for a daily option when just a couple of adaptations would make it great.1. It does not come with the ball mount. This box is useless if you can't tie it into the RAM mount system. 2. Requires a dedicated power cord. The power cord feeds through a hole in the back, which is then covered by the ball mount secured with lock nuts. 3. Recommendations or directions regard the foam pads is missing. While I can work it out, why re-invent the wheel, particularly without any suggestions or recommendations. 4. My Droid quickly overheats in this contained environment. 5. This box is a fraction of an inch too small to attach a right-angle power adapter to a first generation Droid. Not a product deficiency, but very frustrating for me. |
