The clamp assembly of the mount broke when I attached it to my cart because the screw on mechanisnm created too much pressure when I tightened it although I did NOT turn the knob very quickly or forcefully. The mount is cheap plastic. Buy the Lowepro 3.5 inch Navi Handheld GPS Carrying Case instead.

Functional - I was pleased with how it attached to a power golf cart and my hand-pulled cart as well. However, it is not well constructed and brittle. When a major component broke after approximately 10 uses, I attempted to super glue it back together, but the product material wouldn't bind together. I then went to Ram website to order that component, and was pleasantly surprised to see it had a lifetime warranty. Per instruction, I submitted an email with required documentation and a picture of the broken piece. I have yet to hear whether or not they received my email, whether my request is being processed, or anything. A second email from me also has elicited no response. Save your money and keep your Garmin in the cart cupholder. UPDATE - my second email has been answered, and the company says they're sending a new part out. As I mentioned earlier, the product is functional - so I guess if they will replace broken pieces, I would probably say 3.5 stars.

The unit is very sturdy and well designed. Extremely happy that I purchased a USA made unit and not a universal holder made in China.
This is NOT a cheap molded plastic. It cost more, but the price differential is worth it because it is holding my $400 GPS, which I intend to have for many
years.
