Before buying this RAM mount I had a cheap mount with a flexible arm and flimsy ratcheting clamp system. It was serviceable, but bounced all over the place when the car was moving.This mount used to hold the phone absolutely still. I loved the ease of adjusting the position: loosen one knob, move the phone to its new position then tighten the knob. The mount is easy to adhere to the windshield: put it where you want it and twist the base to lock it in place. However, I noticed that my phone seemed to be sagging lately, and today I saw that the plastic joint that tightens the mount was cracked. Not only that, but when I went to return it I learned that my Amazon return window closed yesterday and I would only receive a partial refund!
